Bentobot

A global, free-to-play combat robot fight tournament controlled from your couch.

BentoBot — Hi Stranger, I'm Bento!

Problem

Robot fights are fun as hell. They are like the ultimate sport for robotics and engineering nerds. However, the current options are expensive and time-consuming:

  • Building your own robots
  • Paying for event tickets
  • Flying to the event
  • Hotels, food, etc.
  • Asking your boss for a week off

The Solution

We built 3 robots & 1 application for people to remotely control them. Robots & application were built in 2 weeks. We ran tournaments on my YouTube channel for 4 weeks.

100+ people played. Lots of fun had.

How It Works

Controlled by anyone, from anywhere

Bento can be controlled by anyone, from anywhere. All you need is a phone and an internet connection. It doesn't matter where you are in the world — you can join the fight!

We had players joining from all around the globe, including Santiago, a cool player from Colombia 🛥️

The BentoBot Arena

Every week, we hosted a live robot fight between BentoBots, streamed on YouTube and controlled by the audience in real time. The arena, the robots, the streaming setup — all built from scratch.

We got featured on the Raspberry Pi Magazine, which was a great memory for me (:

Current State

The weekly events have ended, but everything lives on:
