Bumble Bee

"Ignoring these laws, the bee flies anyway."

I don't know how correct this is, but it's a damn good quote. Yeah…

The bumblebee is aerodynamically improbable. Its body is too heavy, its wings too small. By every law of physics, it shouldn't be able to fly.

But it does.

It flies because it doesn't know it's not supposed to. It doesn't stop to calculate the odds. It doesn't consult the experts. It doesn't wait for permission.

Why This Matters

Every project on this site started the same way. Someone said it couldn't be done, or that it was too expensive, or that you need a team of 20 scientists. And every time, the thing got built anyway.

The Philosophy

You really can just do things. You just have to be crazy enough to start.

5 years ago, it would have cost 5 figures and a team of 20 scientists. Now you can run the whole experiment over a few weekends with some GPU credits and a dream.

The bee doesn't know it can't fly. And that's exactly why it does.
