OG ComfySpace
Building robotics is hard. We're here to fix that.
A universal remote control for hobbyist robots — and the project that started it all.

Problem
I have been creating robots for many years, and the biggest issue has always been: how do you interface with your robot? The current options are labor intensive, expensive & not reusable:
- Remote controllers
- Bluetooth Modules
- Screens & Displays
The Application
With this in mind, I spent 1.5 years building ComfySpace. It is a mobile application where you can create buttons and use them to send commands to your Raspberry Pi through SSH.
Available on both platforms:
The Full Platform
OG ComfySpace grew beyond just a remote control app. It became an entire platform for learning and building robotics:
Comfy Academy — Learn Robotics
Our articles simplify robotics basics for non-roboticists. No prior experience needed:
- A friendly guide to robotics
- How are robots built?
- How does one program a robot?
- Power sources for a robot
Comfy Projects — Build Robots
Create your own robots or learn from an archive of easy-to-replicate projects:
- PlayCar — A remote controlled car, fun to play with & easy to make
- Rappit — Talk to an AI chat through a Raspberry Pi
- Baymax — Build a real-life Baymax (from Big Hero 6)
ComfyScript — Program Robots Like Speaking English
Instead of writing code, you can use ComfyScript to program your robot. This language is designed to be as easy to use as possible, so you can focus on creating your robot, not the code.
ComfyShare — Share Your Creations
Share your projects with others and spread the word. We can't wait to see what you've created!
Friends Along the Way
Along the way, I met Farooq, a passionate user of ComfySpace — a brilliant 13-year-old kid from Canada. I also met my good friend Ankitt, who later helped me with designing the user experience.
